BROADCAST SUMMARY
The TV broadcast feature was a presentation on the healing effects of shark liver oil on a brain tumor. The discussion panel composed of Dr. Allen Sills of John Hopkins University, a WABC-TV health reporter, Dr. Jay Adlersberg, and Eyewitness News TV anchor Greg Hurst.
Dr. Allen Sills, who studies active brain tumors in microscopic laboratory settings, explained that the cause of a brain's tumor growth has been traced to the way it produces a substance which stimulates and attracts other cells. The healthy surrounding cells, once they sense this substance from the tumor, will crawl and literally migrate towards it. Once attached, the same blood vessels sustaining these healthy cells will now also sustain the tumor contributing to its growth.
If the tumor cannot get a blood supply, it simply cannot grow. It cannot enlarge and it cannot metastazise.
The discussion pointed out that shark liver oil, which contains an important ingredient called Squalene, has been found to actually block the migration of cells. Dr. Sills states that when the very same cells and the very same inducing substance were added to squalamine, cell migration toward the tumor stopped.
A slide of brain tumor was presented showing a four & half week growth, with a normal blood supply. Another slide of the same type of tumor treated with Squalene was also presented and showed no growth at all but that it actually shrunk.
It was concluded that if a tumor can be kept to a very small size and starved of its blood supply, it will prevented from spreading to other areas of the body. This therapy can be used to completely eliminate the tumor.
